We use an online system called ‘Beacon’ to store our donor details. Beacon advised us on Monday 3rd August that they had a cyber incident that may have involved unauthorised access to their systems.
It’s not confirmed whether ABS data has been affected and to what extent. This issue happened through Beacon’s systems and not through the ABS directly, but the information is ours to look after and so we are treating it as our responsibility too and staying on top of the issue until we have more information.
We have filed a report to the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and contacted all our donors, to advise them to be vigilant.
