Who We Help

The Architects Benevolent Society is dedicated to helping past and present members of the wider architectural profession, and their families, in times of need.

We help architects, architectural assistants, AT professionals (architectural technologists and technicians) and landscape architects, and their families. Eligibility for our support is based on work experience in the UK rather than membership of one of the professional membership bodies.

We help people of all ages; at the beginning of their career, in later stages and when retired.

Today the Architects Benevolent Society spends more than £1 million each year helping over 500 people with grants, gifts, loans, advice and in many other ways. Our welfare officers take the time to offer support and advice, in addition to practical help.

"ABS has been brilliant in supporting me at a time of crisis in my life, with practical advice regarding access to welfare and NHS services along with financial help."  Ian, Architect
